Creating An XML Sitemap

We're going to show you how to quickly create an xml sitemap for your website. The purpose of a sitemap is to tell search engines about the structure of your website so that their robots can crawl through it quicker. Whenever you edit your website you should always update your sitemap to let the search engines know of the changes you have made.

How to create the sitemap:

  1. Upload your website so that it is live on the internet
  2. Go to www.xml-sitemaps.com
  3. Enter your URL in step 1
  4. Select the expected 'Change Frequency' option from the drop down box in step 2
  5. In step 3 select 'Use server response'
  6. Select 'Automatic Priority' in step 4
  7. Click Start!

Your sitemap will now be automatically created. Once the next screen appears, save the sitemap by clicking on the first download option. The next step is to upload your completed sitemap to your Google webmaster tools.
