How can I rank higher on Google and other search engines?

Every website owner almost always requires high rankings on Google and other search engines to gain the exposure for there website however how do you actually get high rankings? What is required? Google tells you that your on-page optimization needs to be completed to a high standard however what falls into the category for on-page optimization. What are backlinks? How do I get backlinks?   • Your website content needs to be high quality, relevant and informative. It also needs to be at least 500 words in length.

  • If your website is purely for informational purposes make sure that the resources on the page are excellent so that visitors will want to share your website with others either via there own websites or social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+. This will generate backlinks which is the main ‘trigger’ that Google pays attention to when ranking websites in Google.
  • Location, Location, Location: If you offer services within a specific county make sure you mention the area within your content.
  • No misspellings or poor grammar. Yes, the search engines downgrade for either.
  • Inclusion of social media links and / or user discussion or reviews. Pages with active visitor interaction are scored higher than static pages.

  • Mobile: In this day n age its hugely important to make sure that your website is optimized for mobile users. More and more users now go on mobiles and tablets rather than a PC, Mac or Laptop to visit websites. If your site isn’t mobile optimized you need to get this sorted asap.
